In the olden days we used SSI, Swagelok, Parker, etc. stainless steel compression fittings for HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography). Nowadays there are lots of purpose-made, 'fingertight' fittings for HPLC (1/16" OD SS tubing)

We use all SS tubing fittings (in air quality testing), air tight and the only ones that last are SwL!

Funny enough, I used to work for a company that sold Swagelok, Sno-Trik, and all that stuff. As a shipping clerk there, neither the job nor the product interested me in the least, so I quit after 2 months and started as a parts guy at an Acura dealership.......
