Meaning the appeal of photographing them or why they exist?

Love the photos. I've seen so many houses go from lived in to decrepit but never understood why someone would let it happen.

Two shots five minutes apart. The color of the water was so much more dark toned magenta than iPhone could capture.

It usually boils down to neglect by the owner. Even though we call them abandoned they almost all have owners. It doesn't take long for a property to deteriorate without any maintenance.

A famous case is a house in Atlanta Georgia that was owned by Kenny Rogers. He sold it to some folks who then got into legal trouble and fled the country but retain ownership. Word got round and the house was used for parties; subject to vandalism etc.

My first NASCAR event - the Phoenix 500 a few days ago. My brother from Virginia came out to treat me for my birthday. From the stands, it is not easy to get any exciting photos, so this is just a reminder of the day for me.

The Genesee Arch Bridge over the Upper Falls of the Genesee River, Letchworth State Park, NY. Union Pacific's Big Boy crossed this bridge last June as part of its cross country tour.
