These are the ones im currently lusting after...
1. Dynaco Stereo 400, 410, 416 and honorable mentions for 150
2. Crown D150, Dc300, Dc300a, Powerline 4 and the Ps-400
3. Marantz power amps...specifically the Model 250 and 240

Lol i have a weakness for perforated steel case and big heatsinks it seems...

The first thing I thought of was that Yamaha half pyramid amp.
Is that the one that got the full page ads in Stereo Review, and High Fidelity magazines?

The memory bank always confuses that ad with an old Levinson ML-2 ad.

I'd have to give a nod to the Phase Linear 400 and 700 amps of the late 70s and the big SAE amps of the late 70s to mid 80s. Nothing but pure unadulterated SS power plus. Several other great amps from that time period for sure but these always stood out to me as being the powerhouses back then, along with being somewhat affordable too.....................
