Very nicely done.
Echowars always favored using matched pairs of Zetex transistors in the phono-stage of the CA-2010/1010/1000/810/800 when doing a rebuild of same. His thought was the phono-stage of these integrated amps (are they they same as in the CR-series? - I don't recall) was as good as any. That and the use of Bournes 10-turn pots.

CA.. CT was designation for there seperate Tuners.
Oops........ thanks for catching my typo. Meant CA and (CR - recievers). Will go back and fix.

Hi, I just received my CA 2010 from Ebay this morning, there was a big dent in the back left corner where the speaker terminals are, the plastic terminal A's are broken and there was something clicking inside, I opened her up and found this piece loose and falling out of the amp as I took the cover off, does anyone know what this bracket is for and where it belongs?

Yes.. It is a shield/partition that solders to the board in between the PHONO 2 input RCA jack and the TUNER input RCA jack on the function circuit board.
Look at photo in post # 6 of this thread. Upper LH corner ..

This ring piece inside the pot has split into two, looks like a clean snap from the shock when dropped, it looks like it can’t be welded together, heavy oxidation. Need a replacement for a clean volume/balance potentiometer.

The only way you’re going to get one of these is from another CA-2010. This is (was) a Yamaha special order and not a part in any catalog. Or you could get creative. Do you really use the balance pot at all (I don’t)? Maybe you find a volume pot that fits the PCB which should be standard and bypass the balance altogether. Just a thought …

Wow great job!
Working on one of these right now and while I picked a similar model of filter cap, wondering if this is...standard, or the only way to get them to fit? You cut off the original lugs and then harvested them to to new cap. No other way of getting it to fit?
I put these same caps on a CR-2020 the other day and it dropped right in, but they weren't tightly packed so that off-center angle didnt matter
Or did you just do this so you could keep the original bracket?
(side note, saw you replaced the original metalized mylar caps on the lytic board for panasonics, is it worth tearing out the originals to leave them be? I never considered swapping till now)

As a side note, Steve at VAS Audio was able to source an original volume pot from ALPS for my Sony TA-F6B integrated amp a few years back. The wait was a some months, but it showed up and the TA-F6B is as "good as new" (or better). The reason I mention is Steve 'may' have an in with ALPS or someone in Japan to source the part. Could be worth a phone call to ask him.
