Quick Poll - C28 vs. C32

I can understand why.... After getting the c33 and the 2505 hooked up I am not really sure whether I need any further upgrades....sonically they sound Fantasic with the 4425's. I actually decided to pass on a 2205 and wait for a nice 2125 or 2155. I did however pick up a nice MA6200 tonight on a whim ;-$. $850 seemed like a good price for a recently serviced, one owner unit.

I was confident the 2505 would serve your needs perfectly. People don't keep them around for 30-40+ years for no good reason. :thmbsp:

Some photos of the MC2505 & C33 ;-)

Hi Guys,

Just a few scenic shots of the gear lit up ;-)

Got my new 'signal cable' ultra speaker cables today and reconnected the rig... I was using the wire I got from the guy who sold me the marantz 2250b... Real skinny cheap stuff..... Well I have to say it was $150 well spent... I was doing an A/B comparison between an album on the iMac streaming to the apple tv and the ps audio DAC and the same album on vinyl... The conclusion is the technics has to go.... The lossless digital stream smoked the technics....I think I need an LP12 and I need one bad.... Being a Scotsman it made it even worse that linn is from Scotland ;-) god help me!!!

Just to be clear prior to switching the cable I felt the vinyl sounded better than the digital stream, there was a huge difference after re-cabling! 37, good hearing and trained in critical professional listening environments... Full disclosure...lol

So lads, just acquired a pristine condition...... MC2125.... Can't wait till it arrives!!! Now for the 2155......;-)

great stuff!! Hope it arrives safe, I had a 2120 for a while, nice amp it was too....
Be sure to get some pictures up when it arrives......

For the C32, what's everyone's take on the ribbon cabling? It seems this cabling design was an aberration for Mac, unique to the C32 and then discarded for all subsequent models. There are horror stories of the ribbon disintegrating, leaving the unit permanently disabled as there is no replacement available. But how common is this problem? Is it rare to happen? Anything in particular that prompts ribbon problems, or is it a purely random occurrence? Or is it an inevitable ticking time-bomb problem that all C32 owners will eventually face? Any preventative maintenance or modifications that should be done to avoid this problem? Or... if it ain't broke don't fix it?

(I'm a happy but concerned C32 owner myself.)
