Radio Shack heads-up

[45rpm]

I was at Radio Shack yesterday and saw that they had a small 4-channel mixer (4 mic inputs, 2 RCA inputs, one ground) for $18. Might be a deal worth checking out.

Picked up an older Radio Shack 100 watt PA amp with nice VU meters on CL for 20 bucks. For 18 dollars it might be good enough to work a small PA for my old guy jam sessions. Actually the amp sounds quite good when I tested it with a Yamaha C preamp and JBL l36 playing vinyl.

I used to have a Radio Shack mixer -- it had a poor S/N ratio.

What sorts of signals were you working with?

I like my Radio Shack mixer, the SSM-1250. Noise floor is very low.

Records, recording to cassettes. Perhaps things have improved since the 80s.
