Realistic Lab 440

You might look at that auction site. I found a motor for a LAB 400 from one being parted out.

I am trying to find a set of dust cover hinges for a Lab 440.

Thanks, Jon

Jon,

There are a lot of hinges on eBay that will fit. It was a fairly common design. Do you have the originals so you know what to look for?

I'm 99% sure the Linn hinges will fit the LAB 440 dust cover. Perhaps someone else can confirm. They run about $26 + shipping for a pair on eBay.

I'm also pretty sure this style of hinges and matching mounting plates will work on the LAB 440:

This style of hinges was common on several Japanese tables (JVC, Sansui, some Pioneer, etc.) during the 70s. I really like these hinges for two reasons. First, they are metal and much less prone to breaking than the plastic ones. Second, they are slotted for easy removal of the cover without unscrewing the hinges. I prefer to run my tables with the covers off and only put the covers on when the table is going to be idle for a while. This style of hinges makes that easy to do. Just make sure you get the matching nickle plated mounting plates. The hinges are useless without them.

Ironically, I sold both my JVC table with this style of hinges and my LAB 440 within the past week. Otherwise, I'd do a test fit for you.
