Realistic Mach Ones

If I could get that price for mine I would seriously consider selling my pair. I haven't used them in awhile anyway.

If I could get a third of that price mine would be out the door before you could say decent but there are better. :D

If I could get that price mine would be gone yesterday! But they'll have to wait until I can do a little touch up work, and then they'll probably not get a bid of $100. Such is the whimsy of that auction place.

Holy crap, you could buy a real pair of speakers for that. I realize they're not terrible, but over $600 for a set of inexpensive party speakers?

I couldn't give mine away, although the cabinets were in poor shape.

Hear that? That's the sound of thrift stores raising prices. Again.

They are beautiful, "early" examples, but that's crazy.

I have a set that's even nicer than those in the link. I'm already jumping from speaker stack to speaker stack to get around. I might have to consider my priorities if Mach I's are fetching that kind of money.

Locally Last year I've seen craigslisting for $150 then go down to $120 or obo. Then it seems when talk about the 4024 version is brought up on forums like this, then sellers often boast their sponge worthiness and ask for $180 or more.

but $675! :yikes:

thing is mach ones are not fetching that kind of money. I recently sold my pair but not near that kind of money, mine were in pretty nice shape with new caps and newer surrounds. 4024A's.

thing is two people were fighting over them and raised the price, then someone came in at the end and won them. that guy bids on alot of vintage stuff and spends alot of money. so if you have cash to blow, its not an issue.

ebay is def a crazy place. I bet you never see machs go for that price again. I have never seen them sell for that.

I hope they don't stay at that price. I would love a pair of Mach 1's and hopefully in the next few years will get a chance to buy a pair. I doubt I would pay more than $100 for them though. I really don't think they are worth $600.

I had some Mach II's at one time.I don't think they are much different from the I's and I would not pay any where near that price. My thoughts are that site is it just depends on who is looking and wanting at the time.

I liked the Optimus-27s they show in that ad below the Mach One's, sounded OK, and the styling was nice, I have a tendency to influenced by such things, in fact if I could find a pair I'd go for it.

I've had Mach Twos since 1989 and Mach Ones (4024As) since 2006. The Twos really sound nice, strong but pleasant. The Ones are rip your head off and crap down your neck tough guys. Sometimes you just are in the mood for James Taylor instead of Metallica.

I have a near mint condition pair of the 4024A's and in reality they do sound damn good. The bass response is incredible. However, if I could get half of what those on e-bay went for I would take it in a second.
