The power amp board, once complete, does look better with the thinner, cooler-looking Nichicon power reservoirs.

But no way in hell those Nichicons look better than the original Siemens caps. Not even close.

Hello Doug, congratulations on your explanations.
I dismantled the same amp, I can't find where this little aluminum sheet goes (see photo below). Or did you buy the 6800 µF capacitors, because I can only find small ones! Thanks best regards

That panel fits under the power transformer to fill the gap left when you install the bottom chassis panel. Last time I recapped a Tandberg 2080 all of the caps came from DigiKey.

It will fit between the rear panel extrusion and the bottom panel plate. The grooved ends of the extrusion will fit into the back & bottom respectively

I don't recall listening to it before the recap. One channel was out, if I remember correctly.
