So, the recapping list was simply all the electrolytics and the one safety cap. I replaced the diodes with the odd oxidization, just to be safe.

That type of capacitor needs special IEC or CE or UL safety approvals in order to be allowed placement across an AC power line. The approvals usually assure that if the cap fails, it will not start a fire. A coupling cap in an amplifier would not require this kind of rating. I did work testing other components for the same reason, and the test involved placing cheese cloth around the test part, and then subjecting the part to a prescribed overload condition. To pass, the part was not allowed to char the cheese cloth.The safety cap was one that I've seen fail (or, more likely, do it's job and die under the correct circumstances) and this particular cap looked a little cracky....

Thanks for going out of your way to provide this info. I own a PX2 which probably has the same caps. I don't use it much but when I have some extra time I would like to take care of it.
