Recomendations for low power/warm receivers?

I really do not know what is a warm sound. However I can definitely recommend an excellent all round small wattage receiver.... Sansui 4000.

One man's warm is another man's cold.
I prefer to refer to sound as personally pleasing or fatigue free.

Don't forget the NAD 7020. Its sound is on the warm side of neutral, it has an excellent phono preamp, and it has a soft clipping feature that can shield your speakers from damage if someone gets stupid with the volume control at a party.

I've used a number of early Marantz receivers, 2226, 2252, & 2270. They all have a similar "warm" sound. Add a McIntosh 1700 to that list also.
With a good pair of high efficiency speakers, you'll have a fine sounding system.

Sansui 4000 and Seven seconded. McIntosh MA 6100 is an integrated amp, it's receiver cousin is the MAC 1900 which defines warm and friendly. Pre-1973 HH Scott is warm sounding and euphonic. So is pre-1970 Fisher. In Pioneer, the SX 626, SX 929 and similar with blue dials fit the bill but a little leaner sounding.

Kenwood KR-4140. I think it's about 20 watts. Very smooth and musical.

Plenty of tube receivers as well, Scott, Fisher, Sansui etc. Some are reasonably priced, plenty not these days. The early SS stuff is much cheaper, at least for now.

Probably easier to get recommendations for a low powered vintage reciever that isn't warm sounding. I can't think of any that I've heard that don't sound somewhat warm.

Marantz 2245, or just about any of the vintage Marantz receivers would fit the bill.

+1 on the Advent 300, I also really like the Sony STR 60** and STR 70** series receivers.
