Recommend a Marantz for JBL L36

I'm getting a pair of JBL L36 (3 way w/10" woofer) and I would like to drive them with a vintage Marantz (or Pioneer) receiver. Does anyone have any experience with this combo? I will also post this in the Pioneer forum.

I currently run a 2285B along with JBL 4311 Studio Monitors
and have done so for the past 30 years and the sound is great and what one would expect from two good vintage brands.

I had a pair of L36s that I sold (wish I hadn't). Sounded great with my newly recapped 1060!

I'm running L-26's with a Marantz 2230 and formerly with a 2270. In either case, the results were very pleasing although I think I slightly favor the 2230.
