Report Problems with Ads Here!

Wonder what I am doing different? Like I said I do not lock anything down to get rid of ads. Just checked my Win10 also, nothing annoying or “in the way” I have to actively Scroll to the ads. :dunno:

Yes, on mobile the sellwild ads are not a problem, at least for me. The new pop-up one I mentioned above is quite annoying though.

I think the ads are terrible. The popup, is piling on. My inability to reply, should I want to buy something in Bartertown, suddenly, is a PIA. I just PM'd someone for a $4 record. And, though there are fewer trackers than a Month ago, 17 are being blocked right now. On this page.

Feeling kinda like a sucker.

I subscribe. That is not enough?

I see the Problem with ads thread. I posted here because it requested input. The Problem with ads thread seems to be moderated by a vendor.

I’m getting the “pop up ads” on bottom and left of screen on my pc (windows 7 / chrome)
And getting a good 8” of sellwild ads on bottom of page on my iPhone (Xr / safari). political
Political ads BOTH pc and mobile.

The pop ups are pretty terrible... I too thought I had a virus but then again I am still on Windows 7 so always possible, lol awww

Ben

I get those on my laptop sometimes. Being a work PC I let our IT handle it. They said it’s a function of your browser not a specific site. When I get them they are on every site I go to, IT does what they do and they are gone for awhile.

Advertising all over the place. Im a subscriber running Windows 10 pro. Happens with Chrome and IE on both of my pc's. Whats my fix ? Or is this on purpose to generate revenue ? I would hope not since I pay to not see all this advertising each year.

Moderation Note:

This thread has a very specific topic. It is intended to provide a place to report problems with ads, so that our ad provider can be informed. This is so our ad provider can correct issues relating to those problems. It has worked pretty well up to now. This is not a thread to complain about the existence of ads, or to make any suggestions on how to deal with ads.

I just deleted several posts that did not relate to the specific thread topic. Let's have no more of those, please.

Ads are part of the way that this forum is funded. Servers, and bandwidth are not free. In fact, the costs are pretty significant.

Now, lets honor the thread topic here. This thread belongs to our ad provider. Read your posts from their perspective, before hitting submit. Please.

I can report that I now have these new annoying pop-ups on the bottom of my screen while I'm scrolling down the page. Samsung GALAXY S10 & Chrome. Built-in Samsung browser same issue.

Do you not get a close X at the top right? I'll have the team investigate on an S10 - You should be able to close that ad and it will go away for a few days at a time.

I just noticed it this morning, not just on mobile devices, and it's annoying as hell.

You can close it, does that not solve the problem for you?

Ya this here sucks guys .

What device are you on? I don't see the X to close this thing on the top right, that isn't correct.

Thanks, that trick works. X it then X it again. I'll let you know if the bottom pop-up comes back (too soon;))

EDIT: I first selected X & "stop seeing this ad" then "not interested" then on the other X again.

It does not. I don't just click on one or two pages when I come to AK. I tend to visit quite a few pages, in fact. Having to click the X to close it on every page is quite annoying, especially on mobile devices / touchscreens, as it's very easy to accidentally click inside the ad and be taken to a new page.

iPhone X, IOS 13.4.1 Google Chrome

Noticed this periodically for the past two days. AK opens in a low resolution monochrome screen for about a second and then fades to normal. When this happens there are always multiple advertisements at the bottom of the screen. In the video below the screen opens on the ads, but sometimes the home page opens in monochrome, depending on where I closed AK. You can also see how the whole screen layout is wonky.

See it here:

I've noticed lately when perusing AK on my phone that the pages seem to load slowly and by pages I specifically mean the whole page keeps shifting as the ads finish loading or moving or changing. The timing leads to my attempts to click on one thread resulting in my clicking on a thread two or three threads up or down the list from the one I'm aiming at.

Also, this ad at the bottom keeps me from seeing much of what I'm typing.

@Advally

Ads here too.

Macbook Pro, Sierra 10.12.6, Safari, Chrome, Firefox (all browsers with ads at the bottom, side, and top).

PC, Windows 10 Pro, Chrome, Firefox (again, ads at bottom, side and top).

Hit the 'X' to close the ad, works for a bit, but same old story after a while ...... ads return.

Quite annoying, to say the least.

I purchased a new laptop last Christmas that defaulted to Microsoft Safe mode. In order to run in safe mode you could only use apps from microsoft store so I was unable to install firefox or my Norton subscription so I gave it a try for awhile. Last night I turned off Safe mode and installed Norton and Firefox. Those annoying ads for womens swimsuits and patio furniture appear to be gone today, sure that swimsuit ad was nice the first couple of days but after 5 months of add overload I decided enough was enough. So far it seems to have reduced the overbearing adds on the sites I frequent, especially this one. I totally get 'Sandy G's outrage over that Gates character.

I just had the same Ad as the_nines. Opened new tab in Chrome, clicked Ak bookmark and there it was. Running Windows 10.

So lately I’ve been getting creeper pop up ads when I am enjoying posts here on the AK website.

Sure they’re to be expected on those sites where I go to see the before and after photos of Kim Catrall and Dolf Lungren Or the ones with articles about how to completely evacuate my colon but I am a paying subscriber here and quite frankly if find them pretty annoying.

Yes I have blocked pop ups in my browser.

WTF Audiokarma?

thanks

Eric

I do not have any ad blockers on my PC or phone. I close the ad when the first one pops up on my PC and I do not get any more, they never show up on my phone. As to the paid subscriber thing, I am ok with AK doing ads, it really not a big deal to me (MO) and it cost money to run a site. I feel pretty safe in saying most would not pay the subscription fee needed for an ad free experience.

JMO
