Now, is the B795 tonearm going to work on a B790?
Henk,
How do you like that Goldring cart? I've been looking at Goldrings for my 795.
Dave
Let's see.
There's a B795 in desperate need of a new motor (or repair of hall sensors).
......
If so, then we could group buy a semi functional unit and split the modules among the people in need of them. If there's anyone needing a tonearm PCB then it goes four ways. And still have a plinth, platter, dust cover (possibly) and psu to spare.
Does this sound like an idea?
Checked the German ebay for B795 available and sold recently. Prices are skyhigh these days. The cheapest one sold for 210 euro.
We might have to wait a bit.
This one in the US is just over $50 at present:

Someone is parting out a B-795 on ebay.uk. At first I thought that might be a direct opportunity for all interested but the prices for some of the items are silly. 120 UKP for the motor only (!!).
Anyway, if anyone is interested in some parts, search for Revox and Linatrack.

I used to have this cart on my Pro-ject RPM4 in the main system. When the stylus came up for renewal I swapped it out for the Ortofon, due to lack of funds at that time.
On the ReVox it sounds great, bearing in mind I use it in the upstairs office system with small bookshelf speakers.
Very detailed and open top end. Bass is tight, very tight and due to the very silent background the ReVox has by definition it sounds rather analytical. The stylus needs about 10 records to loosen up a little but now it is great.
Wifey won't let the ReVox take the place of the RPM in the living room. Shame that, it would sound fantastic with the Quad system. She thinks it's hideous.....
