RF-7

I'm thinking of getting a pair of the RF-7s next Friday can I get some opinions about these beasts?Are there any upgrades I can do to make them better?

My oldest son has a pair of RF-7's he uses as the basis for his HT system, with a Nad AV processor integrated amp. He loves them. In the HT mode he does use a 15" Klipsch sub woofer all the time. For Stereo mode he some times turns the Sub off, going old school and says he is happy that way with the front RF 7 running full range. I totally agree with his choices. I don't think you really need to do much to RF 7. capacitors might need changing if the speakers are over 20 years old and tweeters should be checked carefully. Make sure you have enough clean power. A straining amp can quickly give cause for driver issues. Hard rooms with little absorption are not a favorite place for any Klipsch speaker to reside. Thick carpet, padded ceiling , with drapes to cover windows and nice soft furniture etc to help break up the sound and absorb and defuse reflections will help tremendously.

102db and easy to drive. the compression driver was one of their best, titanium diaphragm 1.75". You might checkover at Klipsch to see if there are folks doing crossover mods.

Dean did a mod for the RF7 network to smooth out response not complicated search in the archives at the Klipsch forum. Nice loudspeaker you will be very happy, congrats on your find.
