RF-7's

Anyone running RF-7's with McIntosh, Krell or Classe amplification? What model amp? What do you think?

I run the RF-5 which is the slightly smaller cabinet but same drivers I believe. I run them with a 40 watt tube amp and they sound excellent to me. Very clear, very resolving speaker. Very sensitive. Takes almost nothing to run them to very loud levels.

My observation is the same with the 7's, takes almost nothing to run 'em loud. I'm upgrading from a carver amp to a mcintosh this weekend, want to post observations. I wonder why there are no rf-7 owners on ak.

I just picked up a set of rf-5's and run them on a C26 preamp & MC2105 amp. Unlike the Martin Logans I normally run, these things don't need a sub. For highs, I almost like them better than the Logans... almost. They're a hair brighter than the Logans but surprisingly have the same open, airy sound. I've got an Onkyo M504 & C220 preamp I'm itching to hook up and see how they sound on that combo. The M504 is more forward than the MC2105. WIll be interesting.

I run RF7s with a MC2102 and C2200 and truly love the sound produced. The 2102 commonly puts out 120 w and I generally listen in the 1 - 10 w range. The efficiency of these speakers make them excellent candidates for tube amps. I also spent over a year experimenting with speaker positioning and find that with the RF7, proper placement is crucial.
