Rf7 woofer replacement

Hello all, I recently got a great deal on some original rf7s, after agreeing to purchase i find one of the woofers has a bad rattling sound. Im looking to find a replacement.any help is appreciated.

I have checked their klipsch parts and they only have the rf7 2 and 3 woofers, nothing for the original

Search the klipsch forum and throw a WTB post in ‘garage sale’. No clue if those guys have found a suitable different woofer for replacement.

K-1089-AV is the woofer. Part #121033


Have you removed the rattling one and inspected it? Definitely the woofer and not something in the cabinet hitting it?

I have the original RF 7s. When I bought them one speaker made a horrible sound only when you cranked it. It was an issue with one of the wires going to the voice coil. I moved it and the noise went away. It's been years and I've slept since then but I think the 2 wires touched during high excursion.

From that part number it really shows the rf7 2 and 3 woofer and that does not have the same bolt holes, I swapped the drivers for left and right and the sound follows that woofer. Right now im looking to find a good repair place

That sounds very much like my problem and I will pull that driver tomorrow. If I posted pictures could you verify they are placed correctly

Those look fine. Did you check the other one?
Edit you said only one had an issue.

Carefully push down on the cone. There should be no rubbing or rough feel. Compare with the good woofer. If it feels rough you have a burned voice coil/bad woofer.

Is there any repair option if it is the voice coil?

I doubt you could find the part to rebuild it.
