Is there a replacement driver for the K31K woofer

My understanding is, for some reason or another, Klipsch had an issue getting the K31. They spec'ed the same specs to another manufacturer and today, they have a driver that is technically "the same" but it might go by a different number.
(My Jubilee's use the K31 so I've kept an ear on it when I heard about this)
You might contact the company about a replacement??
If you do call them, don't paint yourself into a corner saying you need the K31. They might look it up and say it's no longer available. That's wonderful.... it's the same driver that's in the Jubilee... can I buy some of those...and by the way, what number are they?
(and then let me know the new number!!)
Or, you can just buy some Jubilee's and move the drivers. I'll take the old cabinets off your hands! Just order them in Walnut or Rosewood or something fancy please??

Is the K31 a 4 or 8 ohm driver?
Looks like the Ciare is 8 ohm... if the K31 is 4, could that be a partial reason for the sound difference?
(I'm a dummy with this stuff)

I Think the two K-31 drivers are eight ohms and are wired in parallel to give a four ohm load in the jubilees

I've never had any luck getting help from the Klipsch parts department. They always tell me no and that I should buy one of their new speakers(don't they make a profit selling parts or do they just want to piss people off).
As a suggestion, how about the 12 inch woofers from the H3s?

Seems people used to call Klipsch to buy parts so they could create their own project. As I understand the story, PWK stipulated that Klipsch wasn't in the parts (or "kit") business....
They Do however (or are supposed to) have parts when appropriate....however.... I think you are required to have the serial number of your speaker for them.

With their history of using the same driver for multiple applications (the K33 is a perfect example, being used in a variety of speakers), I'd guess that if they could have used the driver in the H3, they would have.... since they evidently didn't, I wouldn't suspect it to be a "great" replacement. That's just my gut feeling, I don't even know what driver is used in the H3!!

The reason I mentioned the H3 woofer was that the woofer offered by Crites for the K31 is also said to work with the H1 and H2 (by Crites). Looking at the prices, then I would buy two pair of the Crites and sell what was working to recover my losses. As for Klipsch customer service, having dealt with them during the 80s and 90s, they were always very nice even when they said no. My last (yes last, never again which is not what you want from a customer, fanboy, future customer who own only Klipsch and a lot of them) was not very nice. It was UPS levels of not nice(don't use them either anymore). Oh by the way, I ended the call this way, "Thank you, thanks for all your help".
