Aw man, another good one has passed. It's sad that we, as a community, mostly know people by their posts. Reading his obituary makes me wish there was an opportunity to have met in person. Being about the same age, I know there would have been a lot we had in common.

A soft man in many ways, but he had a steel backbone when it came to an issue esp if he had a knowledge base in certain gear. His "touch" on AK will be missed.

I admired that quality about him also, just as I admire everyone who is tenacious about defending a well-founded point. Many times, in those "steel backbone" discussions, I wanted to tell him that he picked the best forum name ever, because nobody (of "Gilligan's Island" age) can ever be mad at "The Skipper". You look at the avatar, you think of the OG Skipper, and It's just not possible to be angry .

I liked his tact, advice and overall contributions to AK!

R.I.P. Mark. So many of us on here are close to that age. Always enjoyed his posts. Never realized he was in poor health. The obituary showed he was a good and gentle man of faith. He will be missed.
