He was one of the first members I watched in my early days in Home Theater threads. Took me a minute to figure out that much of his humor lay inside wit (the best kind of humor in my opinion). From that point on, I looked forward to his posts, and his wit. I recall seeing a picture of him inside a thread here, and didn't matter .... every time I seen his posts, I could only envision Alan Hale. RIP Skipper, thanks for the memories, the giggles and of course the help too. I've never forgotten. Condolences to his family.

You and I had a lengthy and deeply moving series of correspondences, by mail and voice, over the last two years. I, like your family and you, was prepared for this, your earthly death. We will all miss you but we will meet again and, as we dicussed, we can, meantime, keep in touch.

How many times he made me (us) smile in the smiling thread? How many many times? I will miss his sense of humour and I am grateful that he shared it so very often with us.

It is difficult to read when one of us gets called home. This is a big site and most up us are middle aged or older so this is going to happen with regularity, but that does not make it any easier. The Skipper was a solid member here and always had a positive contribution. Not every one of us will agree on a topic, and passions can run high here, especially about certain subjects. But we need to remember that AK is a community, made up of flesh and blood people, and that our relationships mean more than the audio gear we bandy about. Cherish the friendships, the people here, and our time together...because one day it comes to an end...and the exact date of our expiration is never really known. The Skipper will be waiting for us, and in a little bit of time we will join him and take the next grand adventure that our existence has for us.

You knew you could always count on The Skipper to brighten up your day and put a smile on your face. The fact that he continued to do that while facing serious medical problems speaks volumes about his positive outlook on life. R.I.P., Skipper. We will miss you.
