RIP Charlie Haden

Just got his last album with Jarrett - Last Dance. Recorded in 2007 at the same time as Jasmine (also an excellent album released in 2010) but just released in June this year. It is a most excellent album!

Thanks for the music Charlie! R.I.P.

Last Dance is indeed an excellent album. :thmbsp: They've been giving it some air time on our jazz station here. I may have to pick that one up myself.

I was fortunate to be able to see the Charlie Haden Memorial Concert at Town Hall in NYC last night after standing in line for over an hour with temps in the teens. It was worth it! He was clearly well loved among his peers and listeners - the house was full.

Quite a turnout from jazz artists including Lee Konitz, Pat Metheny, Carla Bley, Ernie Watts, Joshua Redman, Bill Frisell, Brad Mehldau, et al.

Sounds like a great concert honoring a great musician.

Sad news. I just read a nice article about him a few weeks ago. I have him scattered here and there in my collection... his music will live on however. RIP.

I was late to the party hearing about Mr Haden. I think the first time I paid attention was his work with Bill Frisell and Ginger Baker. Looks like he was a giant in the music world and was immensely respected. RIP
