Sad. I only got to hear him live once, about a dozen years ago, but at least he will live on in recordings. R.I.P.

[dmax99]

Just heard of this on my drive home.I immediately thought of the Hank Jones,& Charlie Haden recording "Steal Away".Sad to say that both performers have gone.

Will Be Missed

I am truly sad. I knew it was coming.....I loved the man and his music, from the first time he did his thing with Ornette Coleman...to his time with Jarrett, Dewey and Higgins to his later works with Quartet West and all those in between and after. Dude was blessed with talent just like his entire family. He will be missed. R.I.P. mi man....R.I.P.:tears:

One of my Favorites

I Loved His Collaboration with Pat Metheny and The Quartet West Albums

[Raynald]

Sorry to hear that, I have a lot of his great music.

[MikeT.]

Rest In Peace. His music pulled me deeper into the jazz I've rediscovered in the last two years. Thank you Charlie Haden

RIP, Charlie. His work with Keith Jarrett and Jack DeJohnette is some of my favorite stuff. Not flash, just good.

Sad to hear. I was lucky to see him live with a big band at Mt Hood Fest, Portland, OR. It was a beautiful night for an outdoor concert. He was doing the music from his beautiful album Land of the Sun etc.
