I think I have this right. I didn't remark the files properly when I saved them so I'm going by memory. They don't look much different. It sounds nicer, though. I'm not using my subs.

I think the polyester caps were used for a smoother HF response and it is perceptible from the plot and you could hear the difference too.

Edit: It's a little nicer when I zoom out a little and put the plot at zero on the y-axis.

Yes, one 1.8uf capacitor only, copper/paper/wax/wood (weight 6kg). No resistors. Acoustical damping for 2k (lf), as I told earlier with picture.

Got another speaker ready with paper diaphragm ... and vinyls rolling. So big soundstage with great detail and depth, sounds so groovy and natural to my ears. I can not praise them enough. I was nailed to chair as the records had never sounded so three dimensional in my room before. Thank you for finding Alex and his amazing paper diaphragms.

Sounds like a Duelund, maybe a CAST cap.

Got my Hollywood 515s installed in my A5 cabinets with the 288B and paper diaphragms augmented by a Fostex T90A. Thought some might be interested in the comparison to the 605s. The tweeter is attenuated quite a bit and pointing towards the rear wall. Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes, it is heavily home made. 6kg of 0.1mm copper sheets in beeswax/paper. Don´t ask for pictures, they look ugly ... but sound is pretty natural for me. I used Duelund´s (cast pio pure copper) as reference and preferred the ugly ones

Ok, have fun... These are not the prittiest beauties outside, but have good behaviour Could´t find better picture. They are inside of the cabinet now. These caps follow my 1/10 principle of capacitor design/use, for exaple 1uf+0.1+0.01... +100pf. Thats why there are so many of them piled, 1.8 uF alltogether. These beauties would need some makeup... if not already found a home here in the deep middle of nowhere...

The high-frequency section of Tannoy dual concentric drivers with a 2" VC, for models before 1979 and after 1979 (the difference is in the centering diameter).

TAD drivers TD-4001, TD-4002, TD-2001, ED-915.

I also have had very good experience with the paper dias! The do sound smoother and have a cleaner top end. I have from Alex, copper 16 ohm installed in both 288C and 291B drivers, attached to a 511E horn, 416 woofers, installed in Altec Magnificent speaker cabinets. I also use a JBL 077 on the top, via mast_mutter crossovers. I have also experimented with 515B vs. 416 woofers and stayed with the original 416 woofers.

You have to remove the mounting flange, open it's bore to 1.4, then cut the throat off at the point where it's diameter matches the 1.4 of the flange, and weld it back together. This is how you maintain proper throat angle. You end up losing that wanky transition area which may or may not be a positive characteristic of the 511.

An MR-594 is a shorter, faster path to hifi.

Hard to know.

The 511 won't evenly disperse acoustic energy as well as the multicell does. If you have a lot of peripheral reflection points, this could be a good thing. It also won't acoustically load the driver as well as the multicell near XO.
