Well, I just spoke with Sandy. It seems that he spilled some Coke on his computer and he is unable to communicate online. There is nobody in his small town who is able to work on his computer, so he is planning a trip to another town to have it worked on.

On a brighter note, Lauriann and the rest of the family are fine, they had Thanksgiving dinner with Bethany, Corey, and their two kids, Logan and Alexis. He is touched that everyone is concerned, and says, "Not to worry. Y'all ain't gettin' rid of me that easily."

So, good news, this morning.

Since the nameplate on ol' Sandy's computer says "Univac" I would suppose service might be a tad difficult

Such good news about Sandy! - anything sugary down a keyboard and that's a strip down and thorough clean needed - but you can't do that with keyboards nowadays - best bet is a new keyboard. (unless it's a laptop and then you have double trouble).

I believe it's actually one of the all-in-ones, like the Dell Inspiron 22, or some such, similar to the iMac. I tried to get more out of him, but he's determined to refuse my (read: our) help.

Without knowing exactly what he has, it's difficult to find the correct replacement part.
