No real cons that I can think of...should be able to find for $50-$100. I found mine at a thrift for $4, all it needed was a dial lamp fuse and a contact cleaning, and I've been using it regularly ever since. Very stout 40wpc, has more "guts" than any Best Buy "500-watt" home theater plastic POS will ever have, and it's a handsome bugger, too. 
I think you'll find it articulate but not too bright, with a clean midrange and tight, accurate bottom. They were really well-done units. You might try shooting for a 7070, little more power and has power meters too, it's a handsome piece.

just to broaden the field abit, at the same pwr level, there's the sansui 2000X at 39 watts and the pioneer sx727 at 40 watts. Not high horsepower but both popular and good lookin/performing pieces.

I just found a 6060 today at a local thrift for 14.96 plus tax. A couple bulbs out but it works great otherwise. I also have a Sansui 5000x (55 wpc) that I've had for awhile. I would highly recommend the 5000x. It's very pleasant to listen to and reminds me a lot of a Mac 1900 SS receiver I used to own. They're both very similar cosmetically and are great pieces.
And there's the 771 and 881 which are a little different cosmetically but sound great. Check them out.
