Sansui 7070 no sound

Start a new thread so we don't get confused between two different receivers. You should not have 4 volts on the output. Check to make sure your meter is set properly and that you are reading 4 volts and not 4 millivolts. 4 volts is more than enough to put it into protection. The relay should disconnect the speaker terminals from the amplifier so you meter should read about the same as it does with the leads not touching anything.

If you are indeed reading 4 volts, the relay contacts are probably fused or compromised in some other way. If you are reading 4 millivolts, it's likely the relay is open and you need to dig deeper. It's likely needs to have the fuse resistors replaced.

on the middle terminals of the relay, you could measure with the black on the equipment chassis and the red of your multimeter on the DC scale, what the voltage is there?
be careful not to touch the tip on either side.
What is the tension on pin 55, 42 and 40?
