Sansui AU-317 vs. AU-317 Mk-II

If I may be so bold..do you have a parts list per board that you used Karl ? Only if it's not too much trouble obviously.. otherwise I'll try and compile from this thread. Also if you have rough idea of total parts cost including shipping ? Trying to work out what size investment I'm looking at here should I decide to recap my 317.

I recently acquired this amp with a tu 217 more or less as bonus when buying a pair of IMF tls50 mk2 speakers. Got a great deal, 150 euro's for all of this. The imf's are getting the foam and cap treatment.. after that I figured the 317 would be a good candidate to start as a first amp recap.

Ja, geen probleem! :thmbsp:

I'll gather info and reply to you later. I'll post here so that folks here can advice even more. Also, some Dutch and Brits fellows sent good European links for more options on good replacements... :thmbsp:

Tot later!

Did you see how much they offer to me? 250 euros! 10x the price I paid for the unit. I'm not intended to sell the unit (playing here right now), but I'm looking for another one (first version) to do another restoration, this time even deeper. And how funny things are: I sent you a PM for asking some tips, but you have full mail inbox! I put the add to see some reactions here, because the Sansuis are becoming a bit hard to find now...

Only if I get another unit for a full restoration (it's adictive, I know) and it sounds "better", using all the better components I couln't find before (see list above), then I might consider sell it away... For now only another same unit could do it...

But I need also your help! Please, free a bit your mailbox... :D

That's how I did it.... leveraged one unit into a better unit. The hobby is paying for itself (almost), and I've received quite an education along the way....:)

I need your help to repare à sansui 317 II :

what components to replace two transistors (b527 and D357) from amp-card

thanks

Thanks for the answer

Postage to France can't be too bad for such a small package.

So - in the interest of "paying the forum back" for all the help I've received in the past, let me know if you can't find the 2SA1220 and 2SC2690 transistors, and I'll send you some of mine.

I can find those 2SA1837 and 2SC4793 here in Holland so I hope they are available in France too, and they are about 1/4 of the price of the 2SA1220 and 2SC2690.
Ha Alienz! Which place here can you get these last ones?

I might have another Sansui (417 or 517) on the way, one channel is completely kapot according to the guy.

Thanks! :thmbsp:
