Sansui Enthusiasts. Where are you located?

I remember driving around puffing up a storm like spicoli (Fast Times at Ridgemont HIGH) while cranking Cheap Trick. Here is my brush with BunE Carlson the drummer of Cheap Trick https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/gear-a-good-story.377749/

I saw Cheap Trick in their hometown at the MetroCentre when I was a Senior in HS, fall of 1980. Assigned seats, E V E R Y B O D Y stood up, and stayed standing up for the duration of the show, as soon as they came out on stage. It was a fun concert.

Grew up in Galena, went to SIU, lived in the Belmont Shores neighborhood of Long Beach CA, and now reside north of Chicago. I do visit Galena quite often and drive through Rockford all the time.

Hello everybody. Just new from today, so more information will come later on.
What I already can tell now is I am living in Europe, Belgium, Antwerp-region. My very first HIFi-chain was full Sansui, about... 50 years ago. It was the AU 3900, if I remember well. Looking at pictures confirms this. Together with "according" tuner, pick-up and speakers, all Sansui as said.
My sister ('s husband...) owns "the" AU 919 and the AU X911 DG and a lot more of many makes. But mostly all hi-end stuff.
I just bought a AU 317 on eBay that is in worse condition than "hoped", although what can you expect after 40 years or more? But is not completely dead, so I know what to do... Pictures will follow! My "daily" stuff is the Teac reference 600 unit, CD-player (very good!) and receiver (with Dab+) since 2010...

craggd. Had my first Sansui living in Japan in my early teens. Wow. I learned something new about you Dave. What model Sansui was it?
BeerLegs. I love Galena. A very beautiful Downtown. The old homes are incredible. I never seen CT perform but Met Rick N and BunE. Rick is involved with opening the new Hard Rock Casino.
Kale. Your one of my favorite people here on AK. I remember first seeing your incredible restorations. Especially impressed with the disassembling the many types of switches. Your a good friend.
Panda500. Welcome. Audiokarma is my favorite audio site. The knowledge here will amaze you. Especially when you need help or information.
Thanks for all the interesting posts here guys. Its been fun seeing where everyone is located along with any additional aid bits of info. I can tell you I am sick of all this snow, LOL

Rick, pretty sure it was a AU-222, early small solid-state integrated. Got exposed to tons of audio by our driver, Shamiso-san, who use to take me to Akihabara ("Electric Town) in his Celica sports car on the weekends. Great memories.
