Sansui Serial Number Database Update

Thank you Sir! Your FR-1080 was built on production line 42 in January 1977. It was the 77th unit off that line that month. We only have one other unit built on line 42 that month and it is also an FR-1080.

@Namlook, Wow, you have been busy. That's quite a list. Thanks for taking the time to format them all. One question, the G-33000, is it the amp or the tuner? The rest looks great. They will be in the March report available in early April.

Like the G-22000 that I also did, the serial number refers to both pieces. They cannot be run separately, only together with the umbilical cord.
 
You might think that since they bolt together but both the tuner and the amp have serial number and the database tracks them separately. The serial number is on the left side panel of the tuner and on front panel of the amp that faces the tuner. Did you have both both for service?

As a side note, the Tuner/preamp will operate separately but the protection LED will blink continuously if the umbilical cord is not connected.

As it's not every day that you run across a G-22000 or G-33000, so I did not know that the serials were different on the two pieces. As luck would have it the G-22000 came back in this week for a small problem so I can report that the serial numbers for that unit are 238090168 for the amplifier and 238070204 for the control unit. In terms of the G-33000 on my list I don't recall which part the serial number refers to, unfortunately.

@Namlook, Thank you Sir!

@Work2do, Your 3000A was built on production line 12 in March of 1968. It was the 4,871st unit off that line that month. I have no experience with a 3000A, so I don't know if it had the mod. We can track production changes in the database but it depends on the folks posting the serial numbers to indicate if their unit has the mod or not.

Currently we have 85 3000As in the database. Based on that sample size, production ran from about August '67 to June '69. Your unit was built fairly early in the production run so it probably does not have the mod but I can't say for sure. You may want to start a thread.

A thread search turned up this. It mentions the mod is in a TSB published 3 years after the 3000A was released.

Thanks for posting. Your AU-417 was built on production line 21 during February 1979. It was the 983rd unit off that line that month. Line 21 was also building the AU-307ii, AU-217ii, and AU-207ii that month.
