5 amp fuse on the 5.6vac winding of the power transformer. Should have a blue wire on one end. It's the one closest to the power transformer on the card mounted vertically in the middle of the chassis, underneath.

Find why it is blown.

I'll tell you why it is blown, cuz these things were hand assembled and are VERY hard to work on! (I am restoring one now)

the display light board if it moves a few mm in any direction will touch to the chassis and take out the fuse which is one of those weird sansui soldered fuses.

actually, the SM is scanned in here!!!

I have been scarfing off bits and pieces for my restore. I got the 1439's done yesterday, I have some parts coming in from acme to do the tone and eq boards next, followed by the power board....

digressing slightly....man does the seven sound good or what? I am only replacing parts because they are nigh onto 40 years old. had exactly 2 burned bulbs ( the hardest to get to of course) and I popped the light fuse when I was tracing the light board....ick. rookie.

I see two of them on ebay for $500 - thats a bit high I think, even for mint. anyone got an idea what FMV is for one of these?

I think any single digit rcvr is worth $100 minimum.

I just sold an Eight for $299, quickly.

I regularly sell 7000s for $2-300

I believe an Eight Deluxe could fetch $500 but I'm not finding out by selling my last one!

I don't think there are any better rcvrs than a Six, Seven, or Eight Deluxe. IMNSHOOC!

I recommend replacing all the small signal transistors with the ksc1845 (I think). I found the reccomendation here on AK. I did the phono preamp in the recent Eight and it made it dead quiet.

I've never fixed a power amp in these models, only the preamp stages. I had a small signal xsistor go bad in my bought brand new Six. I've found noisy ones in the phono preamps.

I've never fixed a bad tuner in these models, only cleaned and aligned them.

I've sold or will sell my remaining Marantz and Pioneer rcvrs.

I forgot I had sent in thescans of the SM. Old age....

I paid $225 for the one for my girlfriend. It was/is mint in box. I'd like to find an Eight...someday.

you know what I am finding out? In the 70's 80's when the vintage audio was not vintage, and just audio, I could see fine. I got into restoring in the early 2000's. then I took a few years off and was restoring pickup trucks (its a weird tool oriented form of adult add)

then I got back into it, selling off the collection and restoring finds and I see that I cannot see......Im using a set of magnifying spectacles. see what 47 vs 40 means? (and I aint talking microfarads....)
