First thing to check are fuses. Since they are cheap I replace them anyway because they can look good and still be bad.

If not fuses, and you are getting sound for all sources, the next thing to check are any loose wires or cracked/broken solder joints.

I have a Sansui 4000. All lights were out. But everything else worked and I got sound.

I had it on, turned it upside down to look at the bottom and lights flickered on. Turned it right side up and lights went out again. Further probing I found a loose wire on the one of the discs of the Selector shaft. When I pressed it against the joint, it would light up. Resoldered and lights back on.

I don't know about the power on. My Sansui just had dial, meter, stereo and indicator lights which were out.
