Well, here's an interesting pair of Sansui speakers that I think just may put a whole new spin on all things "Sansui speakers"... A friend from my hometown 70 miles north, brought these to me for a fair price, after deciding he didn't have the time or desire to get them refoamed. I'd never even heard of them, but after some quick research, I tried to hide my excitement and told him that I'd take them. When he delivered them, turns out he had researched them also, but knew I was a huge fan of Sansui, and therefore hooked me up. Check these bad boys out... I can't wait to get the refoam done, and considering what they are, may as well put new caps in em. Any ideas/suggestions as to what to use? $899 new in '78 and '79. EACH. 100 pounds each, 4 casters under each. Rumor has it that they are the best speakers Sansui ever produced.? The story goes, Sansui was the authorized distributor for JBL in Japan, and when JBL axed 'em, they decided to try and best them at their own game. Looks like the L220 may have been the target... Oh yeah - and damn near mint to boot! Even the grills. And super rare, evidently. I read somewhere that a BA-5000 was driven to clipping with these, and they wanted more! I'm curious like a f*kn cat, now.
