As the owner of a Sansui G-7000 and Eight Deluxe....but no Sansui speakers, I posted the question in the Speakers forum asking for info about those that are popular on E-bay..

I have not had much experience with Sansui Speakers. A friend of mine has a pair of "Floor-Standers" (with the lattice grilles). I have no idea what the model# is, though. After a very limited amount of listening, I was not impressed. He has since had the crossovers re-capped, and says they show a marked improvement in SQ. I am interested to give them another listen. However, I have always been partial to Acoustic Suspension speakers. I just like 'em better than ported speakers. But, you never know, give some a try! They are YOUR ears. You may decide that the Sansui speakers sound Just-Right to you. They are pretty, too.

I’ve had my SP-X9000’s since they were new and their only shortcoming in my opinion, is the lack of bass despite having a 16” woofer. They’re extremely efficient with a rating of 100 dB.

I have just recapped my Sansui SP-2000. Very mellow speakers with the mid and high set to low on the rear adjustment. I love them and they just (a) dissappear in the image and (b) make harsh bright junk sound tolerable. I have some SP-2020 too but they are back in Australia and I don't remember how different they are.

In any case, I think Sansui speakers are under-rated.

If you are interested in Quality Sansui speakers you should also look at the series that are not popular on E-Bay. The SP-L series are very good
speakers but are rare compared to the SP and SPX line.
