Sansui tt...?

I have been eyeballing a Sansui SR-717, pretty dirty, on eBay.
Stereo repairman told me Sansui is not good. I thought the
717 and 838 were good tables. Opinions, please. Thank you.

I have a SR-838 and had a SR-737. I've had a dozen other TTs from other makers. Mine have had no problems and works wonderfully. Some have speed issues, so do other brands of TTs that are 30+ years old. I really enjoy my SR-838.

The SR-717 is a fine looking TT. Do a search on AK for more specific info.

Good luck!

Thanks, guys. The clown who is selling it knows nothing about tt's and it is dirty. If I can get it for fifty bucks or less, I'll see what my repairman can do to shape it up.

Stanton, it is. Maybe some one will out bid me and I won't have to contend with it.
Wrote the seller and he/she knows nothing about what it should have on it as standard
hardware. And it is dirty as hell. Probably end up writing it off as a learning experience.

I have one that I bought from a local AKer a couple years ago (ehoove). It's a nice solid turntable.

direct drive, if it works and is in spec no ones ears will be able to tell what it is
