Scared sh*tless to buy inner sleeves...

I need some inner sleeves to replace the paper scuffers... After searching through some threads here I'm hesitant to buy the polylined sleeves for fear of hazing etc.

Is there a definitive answer as to which inner sleeves will resist scuffing better than normal paper sleeves without harming the vinyl otherwise over the long term?

I'm not looking for low budget solutions, but I'm not on a cork sniffer budget either.

I just bought a new batch of the MOFI sleeves and have been using them for years. My original MOFI records that have these sleeves have no marks or damage of any kind and some were purchased as early as 1978.
 
Agree - mofi are great. One of my best old albums was from 73 and has been in a mofi-like sleeve idk if its the original sleeve because it was bought used (the who - who's next - anyone know what the original sleeve is?) probably in the early 80s. Anyway this sleeve is paper lined with what looks like the same plastic as mofi and it has stayed nm for 43 years so now all my vinyl gets a mofi sleeve if it's in decent shape.
 
I use MOFI as well. I have used these for many many years with no problems. Who's Next came in a printed paper inner sleeve btw.
 
MOFI !!!!!!!!!! They are not that expensive and last for years and years. I must have a couple of thousand here.

Thanks, I was looking at those for their added rigidity as well. Any alternatives out there since this is out of stock on Amazon as well as the SleeveCity website?

They will most likely be back in stock very soon. I think that it is Sleeve City selling on Amazon.
 
Funny - 9 positive reviews and counting for MOFI - members using them without issue since the 70's - and he looks for a different brand with only two reviews (that you cannot buy.) Fear is the mind killer.

Like I said, I have read several threads on the subject (here and elsewhere) and I've repeatedly seen comments about the MoFi sleeves bunching up due to lack of rigidity and several people have used the SleeveCity as a good alternative. One thing I want to avoid is the plastic bunching up inside the jacket. That's been one of my pet peeves for decades when I have an LP with plastic inner sleeve.

That is definitely a problem with them - you have to be careful as you insert them. That is really the only problem though - just causes you to be more careful. Good luck.
 
There was also a lot of fear mongering on the threads about this on the Hoffman site - majority of replies were in favor of the MOFI.
 
I appreciate all the input here, and please keep in mind that the original thread title was tongue firmly in cheek. I am honestly looking for a "majority opinion" though, and it seems clear that the MoFi type sleeves are very good. Mission accomplished. Now I just need to decide if I go for them or something with more rigidity. I'll probably try both and make up my own mind.
