Hello all. AK newbie here. Just picked up a Scott ps-97xv and it appears not to have the original headshell/cartridge. Head shell is a Pickering, anyone know what cartridge this is?IMG_3701.jpegIMG_3700.jpeg

Not sure, just guesses. It may be an old stanton? w/mismatched stylus? partially inserted?

Big guess on cartridge = Stanton/Pickering TL-2

Definitely looks like the wrong stylus. Which is one of the reasons I am looking for info. Thanks for your thoughts. Trying to resurrect this turntable, bit of a basket case when I got it.

The cartridge part looks to be a Stanton 400 or 500 series. If you take out the screws holding it onto the headshell, the cartridge may be easier to ID. The stylus looks to be a Shure, possibly generic. I would recommend gently trying to pull the stylus out of the cartridge, as it doesn't belong, even if it works.

Thanks for the info. Took it off the head shell.

It looks to be an older Pickering V-15 cartridge. I say older because the mounting tabs look to be a bit bigger than the V-15 I have and are a simpler design than the tabs on mine. If you look closely at your original pictures, you will see the remnants of glue where the label identifying the cartridge were on the bottom of the cartridge.
