Sennheiser HD 380 pro

Just picked up a pair of sennheiser hd pro 380 headphones. I guess this would be considered my first "good" headphones. Any opinions? I've only listened to 24 bit files through my android phone and they seem quite musical.

Do these require a headphone amp?

I have a pair of the Sennheiser HD-380 pro but prefer the sound of my (2002) vintage Sennheiser PX-200s over the HD-380 pro. The PX-200 and PX-100 (Made in Germany) play louder and are more precise.
