Do serial numbers make a difference in a speakers demand? My new to me yamaha ns-4 have serial numbers of 01521 and 01522 is that a low number? Is there any way to date yamaha speakers?

They could. Sometimes lower is better, like when a manufacture "cheaps out" in later production runs but I would think more often than not, the later #'s would be more desirable where some improvements might have been made.

Sequential numbers are good, as that means they were probably matched as a set at the factory. Especially important for mirror pairs ...

Yeah - it would seem that sequence is preferred over lower numbers...
unless it's something that is known to only have a limited production
run and the early numbers indicate something specific in their history.
Even it that case the sequential numbers would be more desirable than not.
