Sherwood Micro CPU 100 Tuner -- Pics!

Was the Micro CPU 100 the earliest digital tuner. I think there is a Dick Sequierra model that may pre-date the Micro CPU. Anyone know?

I guess you need to define what you mean by digital..

If you mean a digital display then no... There are a couple of nixie tube tunas that were around before the sherwood. Some of them used a varactor diode front end or mechanical cap with digital display..

This one did have a couple of IC's in it and a frequency synthesizer . It dates to 1974...

They work great...

You can pick one up for a decent price if you are willing to buy one from across the pond. All of the manuals are available from Revox and most of the parts are easy to obtain. It's not too hard to service either,, Most of the boards just plug into each other with a limited amount of wires. The biggest issue I had was the tuning meters but they are available. I had to replace them on both units.

Edited...... Nice picture of a rare tuner... Become a subscriber and post in Bartertown if you want to sell or trade..
