I looked behind the screen once, but couldn't see well enough to really see what was there. I could see what looked like a bass horn, but couldn't tell anymore than that. I keep telling myself that next time I go, I'm taking my mini maglite. I want to know whether it's Altec or JBL.

1941 RCA Shearer bass bin just saved from destruction from my hometown theatre where it was sitting since 1941. I have installed (2) 15" JBL 2226J woofers in there to start off with. It is 7 ft. long, 42" high and 33" deep

This led me to getting the other RCA bass bin last week that was saved from a theatre in Va. It weighs 513 lbs according to the factory literature and also is a 1941 model.... called the " Ubangi" ( from the tribe that puts the large disc in their lower lip) also takes (2) 15" woofers which fire directly out into the room with the bass reflex design for the rear wave.

Both of these in my 20x20 garage should be enough bass...I think?:scratch2:

I would love to find someone that does Photoshop to see what it would look like if I veneered it. I think it would look great in Honduras Mahogany and stained a nice red color.

Guess I've never posted to this thread.

My 811bs look just like everybody else's. So do the 511bs I just got this week.

Now, these JBL 275 drivers with JBL H5040 horns. These are a little different.
Found these at the dump on the 4th of July this year. Hooray for the red, white, and blue.

I am generally not that keen on JBL HF horns/transducers, but these aren't bad at all...

Thanks Anthony, believe it or not, that is the original simulated wood grain Formica that holds up like steel over the years. A good buff followed up by Pledge makes it look glassy new.
