Show Me Your Sansui!

Very nice headset that aren't tiresome to wear on the ears/head. I like these SH-15 ones a lot.
But: I see two Alphas in the background? Very nice too. A MR and a KX?
Thanks! yes, these SH-15's are much more pleasant. No greenhouse effect on the ears. The amps in the background are the a607 MOS Ltd and the a907kx. Those two, plus my x901 (currently being restored) are the three Sansui's I've decided to keep after all these years of buying, selling and collecting audio gear.

Edit- I failed to mention, I just bought an X11 from Japan and am waiting on its arrival, so the above list of keepers may change :)

Wow these are beautiful big speakers, the sound is clear and well defined and not just loud but well balanced in the highs ,mids and lots of base. ken

@sansui 74, and with original boxes, at that! Have a pair here that were a little rough and needed some cabinet repairs. But they are truly imposing, and while I like the SP-5500 a bit better, these are definitely contenders.

I THINK this may be my first post to this thread (but I’ll have to check). I have lots and lots of Sansui, but this is my first “alpha” series piece. And I’m absolutely blown away by it. This system has never sounded so good! This is the AU-a709DR, which I simply love the look of. View attachment 3700518View attachment 3700519View attachment 3700520View attachment 3700521

Looking sharp! Very clean Alpha station. What's the make on those speakers?

Ha! Apparently I uploaded these pics late last night, or perhaps early this morning ;), and never hit post. Reorganized the shop system with a new rack. Currently featuring the 7000, XP-99, SR-4050C, and SD-7000 into ADS L810s or Klipsch KG4.2s. I also added a WiiM Pro out here and did kind of a deep dive on my WiiM setup (and the terrible app). I have an Ultra in the house and several Minis scattered about. Because the 7000 doesn't have an MC phono stage and the XP-99 is running a LOMC AT-3100S, I'm running the XP-99 into a Schiit Mani 2, and the Mani 2 into the Pro's line in RCA input, and the Pro into the 7000's AUX. This, rather magically, allows me to broadcast the vinyl spinning on the XP-99 to the rest of the WiiMs in the house! Crazy! The switching on the app is clunky and frustrating, but I've sorted it now. I could do the same from the Ultra if I ran a table into it. Anyway, digging it.

Also, a local Eight seems to have found its way into my collection this afternoon. Seller's brother brought it home from Vietnam. Serial No. shows a May 1971 production date. Completely original and unmolested. Dirty, but the faceplate is cosmetically mint and the innards are dusty too but look very clean otherwise. Should clean up very well. Early model without the protection relay. Less than 15mV DC at the speaker terminals. Everything seems to be working. I think I'll just give this one a good scrub and service and see what it sounds like in its original state (unless I find something that needs attention). Need to replace the switch labels too. It's picking up stations on the bench without an antenna.
