Show Off Your Small Listening Space

It definitely took some break-in period, and the connection joints seem a bit flimsy. Otherwise I think it is great.

I need better headphones to get a real impression though.

I am careful with the RCA's as they are not particularly robust. Are you running the stock 6 series tube? I never used mine, I replaced them both with 12AU7 tubes, and that may have helped as I thought they sounded pretty smooth right off the bat.

I've never heard mine with head phones, but I don't own a half way decent pair.

Mine came with a 12au7 tube, but when I am not so incredibly broke as I am now, I plan on buying an Electroharmonix 12au7 gold.

Oh you're using it as just a preamp? I haven't had a chance to try that yet.

Maybe tomorrow I will fool around with it.

How are those small class T amps?

At least at this point, they've replaced 150wpc and 200wpc A/B amps.

Seriously, I'm more impressed by these amps than I'd have ever guessed I would have been. They're fantastic sounding, and they made me wonder why I had the A/B amps I had.

I have two pretty powerful amps sitting idle now.

Send those my way!

Haha what are they? My Carver tfm-15cb just got weird on me yesterday.

Great Sound for under $420.00!

I bought a Dayton Sub 800, and Topping TP21 Tri-path amp from Parts Express. The speakers are AudioEngine P4 Passive monitors. The sound is really smooth. Great sound stage, and truly solid tight low bass. That little amp is extremely clean to about 15 watts per channel. Totally impressed at how much really accurate sound $419.00 can buy today.

At first (quick) glance, I thought I was seeing my Technics SB-F1's next to your silver MacPro, then I realized they're your AudioEngine P4 Passive Monitors !

Enjoy the great soundstage ! If you've got a MacPro, I'm pretty sure you're spending hours in that chair doing some pretty detailed work

Thanks. Yes, I do 3D modeling, and animation. The wireframe on my monitor is the Cary 805. I attached a completed rendering.

Here is my new small but nice space. I have a good deal of work to get it right such as paint and super chunks in the corners. But right now the room sounds pretty good however the bass is loading way to much and is just crushing in the small space. I have the BP 2000's turned down all the way and it still is way to heavy. The foam bass traps are just no near enough for this space. I will be building QRD diffusers for behind the speakers as well and possibly the sides so I can make the room sound a bit bigger hopefully.
Here are a few pics from my phone and I will get better ones once I get the projects completed or as they are done.

@ fly4x4 : That is sweeet - How much trouble was it to build that rack?

Thank you very much!

The rack was no trouble at all. I have built a bunch of flexi racks for a bunch of folks and even have one for a coffee table and others for end tables. I made a flexi desk and computer stand. You can do just about anything with the flexi rack style build.
