Finally got the micrometer height adjustment installed with the Sorane TA-1L and put the Cadenza Black into rotation. Been listening to the AT-OC9XSH for a few months and, as good as the OC9 is at its price-point, it is immediately obvious why the Cadenza Black is a considerably more expensive cartridge. What a delightful SQ.

How do you like the Sorane VS the Stax UA-70 you ran? I had considered the Sorane TA-1L when looking at the Stax as both arms were within fudging range of mounting distance my hole is at 305mm VS stax at 300mm and the Sorane at 310mm a new Sorane was just a bit out of budget at the time. Would I have been better off waiting and spending the extra money on the Sorane? For context the Stax arm was NOS and had never been mounted before I got it.

My US-70/CF was in excellent condition, but one of the SME headshell contact pins became 'sticky' (did not always make contact), so Steve at VAS Audio rewired with Nordost silver wire for me. It was a delight to use & did an excellent job.
However, with a wide range of cartridges, I find the design & flexibility of the Sorane arms to be a nice 'step up'. The obvious advantages of the 12" TA-1L & dial-in anti-skate speak for themselves. Plus, the mass of the SA-1.2 is a welcome addition for cartridges like the Ortofon SPU and Denon DL-103, etc. My one quibble is the pivot-point on SA-1.2 is not clearly marked as it is on the TA-1L, so setting the distance is a bit more tedious. But, only have to do once and Sorane provides an excellent template.
Unless I stumble on a 'too good to be true' deal on a Graham Phantom (with several wands) or a similar deal on a SME 312, I'm set.

Got few photos from the past ... can't believe some of these are almost 10 years old now!

Somewhat worn, very dirty and otherwise nasty Shure M94E cartridge, documented just after it developed hissing noises and started losing one of the channels. Try not to look directly at the cantilever, as it's (supposedly) bad for your eyesight.

The very same cart, only a week or so earlier:

Shure M75ED/Type2:

And last but most certainly not least, Shure M91G(D):

Not to be confused with Shure M91GD, which I'm using today. Although it's the same model, this one is not the same cartridge, stylus or even a turntable for that matter:

Just installed an upgrade to my SL-1300G, an AT 33xMLD moving coil cart. I went for the aluminum cantilever instead of the boron on the 33xMLB as I've found the boron too brittle - they snap off easily. (Sorry for the poor quality pics, it the best my 12 year old digital camera can muster)
