Show us your JBLs

I built these from a pair of L-200's that had completely roached cabinets. I used the minimum box size listed in the JBL construction manual for the bass speaker but in reality it was too small. They sounded good, but only at high volume. And at high volume that horn gets a bit fatiguing. After a few years I replaced them with Altec 604E's in utility cabs with GPA XO's and those will go to the grave with me. I still have these bare cabs sitting in my basement as I could not find anyone interested in them after I switched them out.

those are well built. Too bad they didn't do what you had hoped. Maybe can be repurposed into a subwoofer?

Was gifted these L112s last year by my brother-in-law, who has since passed away. My very first JBLs. They had been in storage for several years and needed a re-foam , which I did last week. At first I really didn't like the sound at all. Maybe they just needed some breaking in after all this time dormant because they beat out my OLAs for the position. Now they're the headliners in system 3.

This pic was taken when I was redoing the living room (paint and floors) I dragged it all downstairs and was worried about water backing-up from the sewer. It never has before, but I still played it safe and screwed some 2x4's and plywood together to get them off the basement floor.

The 4365's replaced the 240ti's in the background. I have a pair of L100a's I bought new back in 1978. I'll find a pic or two of them. Since this pic was taken (8/15) the Mac amp and pre have been replaced and the PS Audio memory player was updated with a newer version along with a new BHK tube preamp added to the mix. Now I have two preamps...:dunno:

Not bad . . . :yikes:

Thank you sir......

4365 "studio monitors" < take that with a grain of salt...:D IMO, a far cry from the ol' days of JBL Pro.
I'm toying with the idea of adding a couple of REL Acoustics subwoofers with the 4365's. The 15" woofers in the 4365's do a somewhat adequate job<subjective, but I think a "small" pair of subs would help out tremendously. The REL subs would be the only ones I'd use. They are a little unique, each one connects to your amp's speaker connections, left/right with a XLR connection at the sub. The subs are powered on their own with "tuning" on each sub.
I've never owned any subwoofers before, I guess what holds me back is I don't in any way want to "change" any JBL sound. I'm being told by different people that these subs if properly set-up will not change your JBL's sound characteristics. :dunno:

I bought the PS Audio preamp because it has tubes in the signal path (my Mac C52 is solid state) As of now I don't have a turntable, so it's CD's and as we all know digital needs all the help it can get. To "somewhat" of a surprise the tubes have helped out. Some of my CD's aren't as bright and harsh as they were with the solid state pre and I believe the lower end has improved a bit.

I am about to try out a Marantz PM-10 integrated amp on the 4365's. Teaming up with a Marantz SA-11S3 sacd player. Hoping it will work out.

This is my franken JBL tri-amped system that I managed to figure out and put together with the help of some knowledgeable and helpful AKers (thank you). I’ve learned a lot from setting up this system and it exposed me to dynamics that I hadn’t previously experienced.

JBL 4560s loaded with 2220 drivers
Altec 511 Horns with Cetec Gauss drivers
JBL 2404h super tweeter horns
4 Allen Organ speakers used as subwoofers (woofers only)

The same speakers set up for portable outdoor duty for an AK gathering.

Here's one of my pairs of JBLs.
My 62Ts. Got these off of CL a few years ago.
The original owner drilled holes on the bottom and sides. There was a good size chunk of wood missing from the side. I patched up all the holes and did what I could.
Since they aren't very expensive, for sh*ts and laughs, I threw on some vinyl wrapping last night as I wanted a quick fix on these little guys.
And now I can't stop laughing when I look at these little sh*ts. :rflmao:
My goodness they're fugly.

These were taken more to show other components as opposed to the JBL models that also appear in them... but, you can see my L150A and L112 (or maybe the L96, can't tell from the pic) pairs in the first two and partial view of my B380 in the other.

Found some better pics in my home archive, in no particular order

Pair of L15's that I sold on to a new home:

My L96 on the JBL walnut stands:

One of the pairs of L150A's I acquired before ending up with my current pair. These were marred by a top rear corner crush that occurred in transit, really a shame as they were near mint otherwise. The seller had shipped them on pallets as requested but the freight company managed to trash a couple of corners anyway.

with the grills:

My also sold L220's, the right speaker upstairs in my audio room in the first two pics and last pic was taken at the previous owner's place where I picked them up:

Better shot of the L112's with B380, sitting next to my Sansui rack system:

I will get the ball rolling with a couple of my JBLs: L100 and C50 Olympus.

I found these on “iji for $800.00 and couldn’t pass them up. They are a pair of 4638 bass bins and the matching 2446H horn drivers and the matching pair 8340 surrounds. I will be resurfacing the bass bins in jatoba veneer. The speakers came from a ciniplex theatre in downtown Toronto that was being torn down.
