Show Us Your Sonys!!!

That's a super sweet setup. That TA-N80ES is killer too, well the B-2 is another killer, a murderous setup indeed. :tresbon:

YB-2,
I'd considered sending my 700C boards to EW,but a long think on the situation led me to buy a 700C in the US,and have that sent to EW.
I couldn't take the 700C out of my system. It's the crucial piece of hardware which if absent from the system, the joy also absents itself.:tears:
As I said to EW,a man can never have too many 700Cs!!!
I'd love to hear your system YB-2.A good DD tt and great vintage electronics is the way to go.
PS An Aussie AKer sent me a PM saying "I see you have two 700Cs.Would you be interested in selling one?"

No. :smoke:

Hello to all,

New on this forum, although this message follows for a long time, I wished to contribute my small share.

Not appears on the photograph the TA-D 900 Crossover and the PS-X 800 arms tangential, who are in my collection.

I have also at the cellar a pair of APM 4. But the suspensions of the boomer are Except services.

I also wished to make a small sign to Axel for are formidable work of the Vintageknob :tresbon:

In a friendly way,

xart,

Belle collection!
Je regrette mon DTC-1000ES en voyant le tien.
Comment sont les TA-N900?
Tu es à Paris avec une paire d'APM-4 - est-ce que je pourrais passer les voir?

APM-4s are rare enough... posting photos of them is required !!!

Argh... that is a beautiful collection like Axel says... Esprit stuff, drooooooooool... (Tu ne les vends pas les APM 4's? :p)

Got overbid on a TA-E88B on ebay last night, the last freakin second. Grr !

The quest continues.

Bonjour Axel,

Xart

What I wouldn't give to own a pair of those...

If you ever get them fixed and find a TA-E900 (only seen one on Ebay some months ago, went for over a 1000 USD), I'm coming to Paris for a listening session if you don't mind ;-)

Beautiful Xart !!!!

SONY Dream

Xart,

welcome to AK and:

Your collection is really impressive ! I love these Esprit devices, especially the APMs and the monoblocks ...

I´m collecting SONY gear like crazy, but I was able to get hold of only one Esprit device. These are really rare items, which are obviously loved by all their owners. That makes them even more unobtainable ...

Last weekend I was outbid on a TA-D900  . Grrrrrr

That was probably the last chance for the next years to get the following superlative four way active SONY/V-FET chain together:

PS-8750 with DL-304
CDP-701ES (analog section mod)
ST-A7 or Wega Lab Zero Tuner (also  known as the ST-A9)
Wega Lab Zero Pre (aka TA-E88)
TA-D900 Four way active crossover
TA-N901 or TAN-8550 high frequency amplifier
TA-N7B low/mid amplifier left side
TA-N7B low/mid amplifier right side
Yamaha B-1 sub bass amplifier

... playing into a pair of active mode modified SS-G5´s + Stereo subwoofer and later: SS-G9 and muuuuch later probably SS-GR1 :smoke:

Saying it with Martin Luther King: "I have a dream !"

So far, everything is ready except that damn crossover and the SS-G9, SS-GR1 (for sure). What a wonderful overkill of a dream ! Let´s continue dreaming ...

PS-1800A is finished, tested and in the system with a Sony MC-XL33L mounted.

It's a nice TT, well worth the restoration.

Dude, there's a pair of SS-GR1's on Hifido for a bit more than 5000€...

http://www.hifido.co.jp/cgi-bin/newhifido_info5.cgi?code=06-30194-83055-50&todays_mode=0&goods_mode=10000&goods_mode2=0&price_mode=0&keywords=sony%20ss&page=1&lang=e&text_mode=

Insane...

Seen two or three of those Esprit TA-D900's on ebay the past few weeks, both went at equally insane prices...

But damn, that would quite the setup Mirko... I'll be coming over to your house as well when you get all that together

Absolon: that TT looks in perfect shape. Gotta love the wood finish on that one !

Does This Qualify For This Thread

These were built for sony , never made it into production. sony 10 inch cast woofer and janszen electrostats for mids and highs:thmbsp:

wilke87,
... not sure.
The woofer looks like it comes from one of the SS-V series of '78/80 vintage but I don't see what Sony would do with Janszen 'stats. I say this because I own a pair of Janszen myself ;-) I love(ed) them but have never heard of Sony doing a mix'n'match with another manufacturer.. Can you indeed be a little more specific?

btw,
since this is THE Sony thread worldwide, I'll be bringing the SS-GR1 and TA-ER1 on TVK next week - stay tuned Sony folks!

Very nice! Is that the original wood or did you remake? I just put the cabinet on my ST-5000FW and it is also very nice. Found a NOS. Finish looks similar. Glad it worked out well for you. :thmbsp:

sony speakers

elaborating on sony speaker. My uncle who recently passed was Don kliewer he designed and made dlk speakers , in the early 80,s don had a state of the art soundlab and did some work for sony ,at that same time don manufactured janszen electrostat panels and crossovers. the two were combined for testing,my other uncle bought these speakers and i recently aquired them. no model number on them at all. just a janszen badge on the front dust cover with sony woofers.
