Show us your Technics stuff

Thank you.

Yes, I am pretty happy with the system for my needs. From what the seller told me, I've probably logged more hours on the system since I bought it Friday than the seller had in several years.

I keep finding references to vintage Technics sites and then finding that the site is defunct. Thanks for the link. I'll give it a try.

The Technics RS-1500 is coming along quite nicely.
The 4 missing knobs have been sorted out, luckily I already had 3 spare Technics black colour knobs that date from the the 70's.The fourth missing knob wasn't so easy,as the thin shaft had sheared off quite near the face plate. After some thought,I used rubber insulation cable taken from a mains lead, then tightly pushed in a custom made metal shaft,it holds very nicely.
Sort of not really happy about those Technics amplifier knobs acting as tension rollers (they just don't tend to look the part-but do their job well),so have come up with a new plan, not sure if I can pull it off,but am figuring it out.
The newly acquired Technics reel looks mega cool, never realized they had "1 & 2" printed on opposite sides of the reel, can't wait until a second turns up.
I'm just lov'n this RTR,amazing sound (have also cleaned and demagnetized the heads etc),the pitch control is supa cool too! :smoke:

The next eppisode of 'Hoarders' ? ... grin. @ Bailey

I know you say that in a joking manner but here's the problem.

If someone saw that and decided to "report" them since the obviously need "intervention" the idiots producing the show would probably consider collecting "old and outdated" hifi gear a sickness.

They probably have Bose Acoustic Wave radios that think they're cool because of it. The producers of that show are probably like many people in that business; idiots.

While I don't actually own these anymore, my best friend still does. And I hear them quite often.

So, I think I am justified in posting them.

The surrounds were rebuilt recently, and we upgraded the quality of the x-over.

They kick some serious butt.

Edit - oops. Not solid state.

BTW, you are missing the bearings and caps for the tension arms. A bit hard to find them on ebay but assemblies show up from time to time.

I just got real lucky, managed to find, then purchase these Technics RS-1500 tension rollers on Ebay. They were located in Canada on a very reasonable "Buy It Now".There's a few other bits & pieces with them too.
Can't wait to fit 'em,will have to be patient though, what with the Christmas holidays, and them been located so far away from the UK.

Technics Professional Flat

That RS-1500 is sweet... It came with a remote too and it had beautiful matt black reals too... I'm surprised that nobody posted the core Technics Professional Flat series gear such as the rare but not too rare SU-9070 pre-amp, SE-9060 amp, SE-9600 amp, SH-9020 power meter, SH-9010 equalizer, or the S?-9030 tuner... I'm actually very surprised because they are freaking collectable.

BUT I'm not surprised that in all of the audio groups NOBODY talks about the following XXXRARE Technics Professional Flat models (I'll include some pics) because almost nobody knows they existed; SU-9600 pre-amp, ST-9600 tuner, RS-9900 cassette deck (actually had rack ears AND HANDLES) and the most rare piece of all.... The SH 9090 equalizers which were 12 bands not 5 and they were mono units so you needed two of them... Recently a pair sold for $7,000.00 USD... Mac, eat your heart out.

If I run out of storage space for these images I may remove them but feel free to ask cuz I'll likely save them.
