Same can be done w/ SE-A5MK2 / SE-A70 (12,000uF caps LV2 output higher wattage emitter resistors, higher current rectifiers & new bourns bias trimpots.)

anyone have any experience with a technics su-v96 push button volume control and balance control issue and know what can be done to possibly remedy the problem other than replacing circuit boards of any sort?
 
Oh, the SB-501! I have been looking for a pair of these old models (SB-500, 501, heck, 1000) for quite a while to complement my SU-/ST-3600 system. The main issue is that I already have a pair of SB-10 and probably would not want to have two sets of large speakers.
 
Bought at a garage sale, worked fine after cleaning the controls....for a couple of weeks, then the right channel started making some very odd noises. I kind of gave up on it.

Bad pic taken on a problem plagued phone, right after moving in 2017, my M45 and RS-276US cassette decks, both still work great.
