Show your headphone amplifier

This is one of my recent builds

2-channel / 2 box Beta 22 amp with built-in Amanero USB interface / Curryman DAC (ES 9023 with discrete FET output buffers) contained in an internal copper shield

It's fairly compact, note the scale of the 1/4" headphone jack on the front panel

COSMETICS: Knob is ground from semi-precious cat's-eye stone, side trim is Shedua wood

I'm thinking of branching out to the world of Tubes. Considering the bottle head crack amp. Any experience with this amp out there?
I built a Crack / Speedball. It's a wonderful amp but can't drive the lower-impedance planar 'phones. Sounds great on my Sennheiser HD800's, Sennheiser HD600's and 600 ohm Beyer DT880's. Very musical on most headphones.

Yes, I looked into this further yesterday and found that Crack can't drive my Grados... looks like instead I might have to step up the the s.E.x. Amp.

How was your build experience with the crack? That's really my biggest hesitation, I am afraid to mess it up!

that is a lovely job. I wish I had the confidence to take on a build of my own.
Awesome

Here's the combo I use... I run the output of my NuPrime uDSD DAC through a Chi-Fi "Little Bear" three tube preamp with Soviet 6N3P tubes,
then into a JDS Labs 02 Headphone Amplifier - my main headphones are the venerable Sony MDR-7506 professional recording studio cans.
This is a relatively low cost setup that sounds surprisingly good... very detailed and musical

I bet the amplifier's sound really good together. kind of a high quality hybrid amp. Nice

Exactly... plus, I have a simple RCA output switcher after the tube preamp so I can run it into my desktop near field amp and speaker system - bonus!

Since reading about Headroom several years ago, I've been intrigued by their HP Amps. They seemed to have had a good following, and a good reputation. I wonder why they stopped making HP amps.

I believe they have shut down their store and are going to be making headphone amps.

I just got in on the Massdrop drop for rhe Little Dot with the 6CQ6 tubes.

I admit that I'm a little bit excited. I play guitar and and sometimes run through a Korg headphone amp late at night and I'm eager to try that in adddition to using it for hifi use. With most headphpnes, it was a pretty decent upgrade when I added the Schiit Mani.

Here are my two headphone amps. My amp at work is a Garage1217 Project Sunrise III driving AKG x Massdrop K7XXs.

My home amp is an APPJ PA1502A with uprated coupling and cathode caps. Right now it's driving my HiFiMan HE-500s.
