*Silliness* Most ridiculous or insane home speaker stacks...

Where's Stereorob? We never did get a picture, I don't think. He set his trailer on fire though, remember that? :rflmao:

Edit: We DID get pictures...search posts by him with the phrase "shock and awe" if you must.

StereoRob! Yes, that was it.

The Advents were HomerJSimpson's event. Took him a little while to get the stack, if I recall, his ceiling was just barely tall enough. o_O

Here's the thread, but alas, all the pics are gone in an AK server changeover somewhere along the way. Technically it wasn't a stack, but he had about 10 pairs of impressive speakers lined up along the sidewalk behind the shed, and some welding-grade power amps inside with jumper-cable sized wire running out there. Quality equipment, too. It looked pretty epic. The picture of the lady cop on her second visit trying not to smile was the best.

I don't know how insane it is but, it sure sounded nice!

3-way Heresy on top of a Jubilee bass bin (actively biamped with 2-channels, one leg powering Heresy, other the bass bin)

Genuinely a Heresy with balls!!

Where do these members drift off to...? Sir Byrd commented on earlier posts of mine, but I took a few 2-3 year gear breaks during my membership here.

There is an old thread here about 6-7 years ago where they were connecting 10 pair of Advents, I think. Then another for about 20 sets of Minimus 7's.

Mad scientists at work. :music:

I was actually trying to accumulate enough Minimus 7s to do a line array (at least 10 sets), but never could get enough of them in one place at one time.

20 sets would be perfect, though. They're about 4 1/2" wide- that would a make a set of 20, wind up 90" tall (7' 6"). And they could be wired to about 6.4 ohms.

Regards,
Gordon.

Just to add to these stacker systems,,, heres my 36 speakers,,15 amps,,audio research ls-1,,Art eq,,x-over,,qsc 2400 watts hitting six 12" subs for movies only,,as you can see I have plenty of midbass ;)) stackers kick ass...

That's not a stack- that's a full blown WALL OF SOUND!!

Regards,
Gordon.

i gotta ask , do you guys with a wall of different speaker styles and brands , play them all at the same time, or just change up the sources and speakers depending on mood?
