*Silliness* Most ridiculous or insane home speaker stacks...

6 x Bose 10.2's, two pair on the Mx1000u, one on the RX1100u receiver, that made the walls heave!
Have a frankenstack in the garage now, a pic shall be forth coming. Mx 600u, two 800u's, and a Inuke 3000dsp for the Lilwreckers.
Can only run it when my Mum is out at the food store! Her apt. is directly behind it!
Above amps run 2 Behringer C200's on the mx 600, two pair bose 10.2's on one mx800u, and two pair bose 301's on the other mx 800u, and of course the lilwreckers.
Drowns out woodshop machinery nicely!

This ^^^^ gets my vote nodoubtaboutit,LOL.

Such an obvious implementation once you actually see it but I honestly dunno if it ever would've occured to me to do that ???

Man that is just sooooo d@mn ...

Anyone who says you cant stack speakers is a fool...... they sound kick ass..... a lot of people say to me that's to much power for those speakers ....that's a myth at best and I laugh my ass off when I hear that..... you can never have too much power,,thats not what blows ur speakers.... example I have 2400 watts rms to 4 speakers @ 100 watts power rating..... for 15 yrs.....hmmmm ..... they still love me and I blast that **** beyond concert level ;))

Wow there are some cool looking setups here.

The Pyramids are awesome. I have never seen ONE pair of those around here, much less two!

@Bassblaster: Whatever it is you are trying to do, SLEEPING on that bed does not appear to be included.

@pustelniakr: Absolutely gorgeous racks (and gear). Are those home built or bought?

I'll play, my 2 sets of Speakerlab 50's that I hooked up. Sorry but they didn't sound that great. I wanted to invert and stack one on top of the other but they have glass tops so didn't want to screw them up. I think they would have sounded much better .

Speakerlab 7's stacked by the crazy guy I bought my second pair of 50's from. He liked it loud.

Where's Stereorob? We never did get a picture, I don't think. He set his trailer on fire though, remember that? :rflmao:

Edit: We DID get pictures...search posts by him with the phrase "shock and awe" if you must.

Yeah he's got quite the stacks. They're really stacked for storage though. But he does try to run a whole bunch of receivers/amps all at once. The mad man.

Right from Nestorovic Labs. The System 16 ( 2 sets of type 4 and the type 8 bass modules) Inverted for the best imaging and soundstage.... I know , not really what this thread is about.... View attachment 923901

Why not? They're speakers that reach almost up to the ceiling. I think that's squarely in the wheelhouse here!

Regards,
Gordon.

Where do these members drift off to...? Sir Byrd commented on earlier posts of mine, but I took a few 2-3 year gear breaks during my membership here.

Suddenly just went away, maybe he will return at some point. As you did, maybe he just needed a break from all the AK "pressure"!

I was actually trying to accumulate enough Minimus 7s to do a line array (at least 10 sets), but never could get enough of them in one place at one time.

20 sets would be perfect, though. They're about 4 1/2" wide- that would a make a set of 20, wind up 90" tall (7' 6"). And they could be wired to about 6.4 ohms.

Regards,
Gordon.
I have about 5 sets of Minimus 7's, maybe one day I will have enough to give it a try. If I had 12 foot ceilings, I might have tried stacked Beveridges. :beerchug:

Somewhere I have some cool pics of a custom build for stacked Quads. They were in a very ornate stand and had grill cloth over the whole rack and it looked like one set of speakers.

Edit: I found the pic. The ones on the left, I think are stacked Quads. Cannot recall what is in the stack for the set on the right. These are from the guy who periodically advertises his hoard on eBay for $750k and it shows up in D&$ over and over again.

At an AK gathering in KC, 2013, Mid-Moe brought these triple Bose 901 stacks with a customized home-built amp, Mac pre and an EQ.

The amp was OTL and designed to match the rewired 64 ohm 901 cabinets. It sounded pretty darn good out in the yard I gotta say. That guy was a mad genius.

I remember that setup, sounded incredible...

I would travel a pretty good distance to have a beer at this guy's place.

Magic Marksy seems like a bit of a character (but aren't we all, really). Yeah, I would like to hang out for a while at his place too. He has all kinds of cool gear.

I tried stacking some ADS L710 and 910s, but wasn't really impressed. For my next trick, I am working toward multiple Magnepans (MG IIc and IIb).
